The E in our logomark is derived from Dr Walter Kwok’s signature. The word Empire is completed by succeeding members of his family.


By joining the two components together, Empire’s logo symbolizes our commitment to bringing Dr Kwok’s vision forward into the future.

As caring corporate citizens, Empire recognises our responsibility to society and is committed to supporting a range of causes. We are specially interested in causes that further tertiary education.

Walter & Wendy Kwok Family Foundation

The Foundation supports a number of charitable causes and initiatives that offer services and resources to the underprivileged.  These include Suicide Prevention Services, Foodlink Foundation, Society for Community Organization, Heep Hong Society, Asbury Methodist Social Service and COVID relief.

Suicide Prevention Services (SPS) (Since 2014)

The Foundation has been donating to SPS since 2014.

SPS serves people who are suicidal, SPS aims at raising general awareness towards suicide and identifying ways in which suicide can be effectively addressed. SPS provides 24-hour suicide prevention hotline service, suicide prevention service for the elderly, services for survivors of suicide loss and community education for youths.

The Foundation has been supporting SPS since 2014.  Teams of staff from Empire Group Holdings have joined SPS’s fundraising events including charity walks, drama shows and concerts.

Society for Community Organization (SoCO) – Elderly Program (26 March 2024)

The Foundation is pleased to sponsor SoCO to outreach to hidden elderly to assist them to get medical help in time, to rebuild peer networks and to re-engage with the community.

SoCO supports grassroots in fighting for their rights and social justice to realize a common dream of making all humans equal.  SoCO provides services to the underprivileged including the elderly, children and youth, family and contributes to community development.  Projects SoCO have carried out include elderly medical, homeless housing and social housing projects.

The elderly program is based in an elderly center which rent is also supported by the Foundation. The program aims to outreach to the hidden elderly to:

  • Rebuild social network
  • Organize leisure activities, health talks and health check that are dedicated to hidden elderly
  • Provide referrals, assist in applying for community, elderly center and elderly home services
  • Organize volunteers to produce and deliver Chinese soup, accompany walking, check blood pressure  

Via this program, SoCO wishes that the hidden elderly will no longer be hidden.

Heep Hong Society – Hydrotherapy Program (12 December 2023)

The Foundation is pleased to sponsor Heep Hong Society to provide hydrotherapy program to children with special needs.   

Heep Hong Society maximizes potential, empowers families and facilitates inclusion. Heep Hong Society provides early education and training service, special child care service, pre-school education, school-based support service and vocational training for young people.

The hydrotherapy program aims to provide hydrotherapy group training to children with special needs. Via this program, Heep Hong Society wishes that the special needs children would be able to apply the learned motor skills from the hydrotherapy program on land and in leisure swimming.

Asbury Methodist Social Service (AMSS) – Provision of sanitary items (2 December 2021)

The Foundation is pleased to sponsor Asbury Methodist Social Service to provide sanitary items to households who live in sub-divided flats.

AMSS runs elderly center, integrated children and youth center and school social division, empowers families and facilities inclusion.

Sanitary items including masks, toilet rolls, tissues, dish detergent, laundry detergent, disinfectant and bleach would be distributed.  AMSS also provides stress relief workshops in a café setting.  Via this program, AMSS wishes to alleviate the living expenses of the sub-divided flat households, assist households in developing social network and equip them methods of stress relief.

Kwok Scholars Association

The Association believes that every person, regardless of their financial circumstances, deserves a chance to further their education. In particular, the Association supports those who want to pursue studies that centre around public service, environmental, psychology and hospitality.  The Association provides financial support in the form of scholarships to Hong Kong and China residents who need financial assistance to undertake their studies.
